Test and survey tools are developed to help generate empirical data. This data shows the foundational literacy and numeracy skills of children in Nigeria aged 5-15 years. The test tools are developed using Nigeria’s primary school curriculum and PAL Network’s framework, developed by national curriculum developers, test development experts and practicing teachers from both public and private schools. The survey tools are developed by LEARNigeria and her technical partners across the state and non-state sector.
These tools target two levels of learners: Basic and Beyond Basic.
Basic Level
At the basic (foundational) level, the assessment is bench marked at primary two level of literacy and numeracy.
Beyond Basic Level
At the beyond basic (higher-grade assessment) level, the, results are benchmarked at primary four, junior secondary one and senior secondary one expected learning outcome.
