Pre-test Exercise – June 2017

A pre-test is a mini-pilot used to assess the instrumentality and workability of a survey instrument before the actual survey. During the LEARNigeria scaling-up pre-test, we were able to deduce the degree to which instruments could be depended on. It also helped with planning for logistics surrounding the actual survey.

We carried out two pre-test activities in five states (Lagos, Akwa-ibom, Ebonyi, Taraba and Plateau). The first pre-test was to acertain the inter-rater reliability of the instrument while the second was for the test-retest.  After each pre-test, we carried out reviews to reflect on observations from the field.
